Memorable Lake Tahoe Trip

Here are some pictures from when we took Sophia to the snow in Lake Tahoe. This trip was memorable for two reasons: 1. We rented a house with some friends and there were four pregnant girls staying in the house: Me, Becka, Bria and Katie. I mean, who can ever get four pregnant girls in a place? Ha! 2. We had to leave this trip early because Sophia got really sick. Brent and I had no idea how sick Sophia really was but she looked pretty down, so we drove straight from Lake Tahoe to the Urgent Care close to our house since it was the weekend and we figured her doctor would not be available. While I was in Urgent Care with Sophia, Brent went next door to see which doctors were on "after hours care" at the Pediatric department dand it was a miracle that Sophia's pediatrician, who we absolutely LOVE , was there! We were so blessed that it was her weekend on call. So, we transferred from the Urgent Care and went to see her and she knew the whole history on Sophia and was able to take the appropriate measures right away. Turns out Sophia had ear infection on both ears AND a pneumonia! Poor girl! It was the hardest day of my life as a mom (even till this day - five years later). I remember looking at Brent when they were giving her shots on both of her little legs and we both had tears in our eyes. It still hurts to see her little face on these pictures knowing that she was so sick and at the time we had no idea. She has always been the toughest little girl.

Rancho San Antonio

I keep trying to go back to updating this blog but then I think of how far behind I am on pictures and important events (3 years!!) and I get so overwhelmed. I will keep trying though! :) When Sophia was little, one of our favorite places to take her was Rancho San Antonio. It's a great place for getting all their energy out and coming up for a long nap after all that walking/tricycle riding!
